Japan outscores USA
Japan has prolonged its world championship title, as it outscored the USA 4-1 in the all-deciding Grand Final of the ISF Women's World Championship today (Sunday, August 24) in Haarlem (Netherlands).
In the final, Japan took charge of the game right away in the first inning by scoring three runs, then added a run in the fourth at bat.
Team USA, which outhit Japan 8-7, scored its lone run in the fifth inning.
During the Closing Ceremony, the flag of the International Softball Federation was handed over to the representatives of Canada, which will organize the event in 2016 in Surrey.
Also, for the first time the Don E. Porter Cup was handed out to the world champion.
The award is named after former ISF-President Don Porter, who was succeeded by Dale McMann in October last year and handed out the award himself.
