Annelies van Asch (born in Naarden, Netherlands) joins the medical staff of the Dutch National Softball Teams in January of 2012 as Physical Therapist. She takes over for Anouk Fermont, who this year is less available due to study. Annelies joins Sanne Oude Egberink and Ingrid Holstege as Physical Therapist. Sanne is with the Dutch Teams since 2009, Ingrid joined in 2011. Annelies celebrates her birthday on April 30, the same day as Head Coach Craig Montvidas.

Annelies plays tennis at BLTC in Blaricum, until she is 18 years old, then starts fitness and strength practices. Nowadays, she enjoys skiing very much and now and then still plays tennis. ,,At the moment, I'm primarily busy with strength training, but I want to pick up tennis again after my Master-study'', says Annelies, who lives in Huizen.

In 2007, Annelies completes her study as Physical Therapist, then joins Medicort Sports & Orthopedic Care, which is part of Tamminga Groep, in 2011. There, she is a colleague of Sanne, Ingrid and Anouk, who also work there under the direction of Rob Tamminga, who himself is one of two Physical Therapists of the Dutch National Baseball Team. Currently, Annelies follows the Master Sports Physical Therapy in Utrecht, which she hopes to conclude this summer.

Why did she want to become a Physical Therapist? Annelies: ,,To help someone get rid of their injuries and limitations''. Becoming a Physical Therapist wasn't the first choice of Annelies, as she never knew what she wanted to become. After leaving school, she started a course for pharmacist assistant. After completing this, she found herself too young to already start working fulltime. She then found a new challenge in a course for physical therapy. During the progress of this study, Annelies started to enjoy the active revalidation very much. And so, she went on to choose for an additional study of sports physical therapy.

Annelies does know the sport of softball, as she played it herself when she was in school.

Then her favorites. Annelies lists Jude Law and Hugh Grant as her favorite actors and Helen Mirren and Milla Jovovich as her favorite actresses. Lucky Number Slevin and Avatar 3D are the best movies she saw.

What books are concerned, she likes the thriller books written by Karin Slaughter and Nicci French. Her favorite music is that of Coldplay and Anouk and she would love to meet President Barack Obama, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander. Her favorite food? Fresh snap beens!

2012 --- In January of this year, Annelies joins the medical staff of the Dutch National Softball Teams as one of their Physical Therapists.
2007 --- This year, Annelies starts her professional career as Physical Therapist.
