ISF sets Pools for World Championship

PLANT CITY, Florida (USA) - The International Softball Federation (ISF) has informed the federations of the participating countries of the 12th World Championship that the two pools are set for the event to be held June 23-July 2 in Venezualan capital Caracas.
Earlier, on February 22, the ISF confirmed the entry of all sixteen teams.
The Dutch National Softball Team will play in Pool A in the event and will meet the National Teams of Argentina, Canada, Cuba, Great Britain, Japan, South Africa and Taiwan (Chinese Taipei).
Playing in Pool B are Australia, Botswana, China, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, New Zealand, reigning world champion USA and host Venezuela.
The game scheduled will be announced later.
The Dutch Team has faced the teams which it will meet in the preliminary round all before.
However, the last time it played against Argentina was during the World Championship of 1994 in St. John's (Canada) and the last time it met Cuba was during the World Championship of 1990 in Normal, Illinois (USA).
