NIEUWEGEIN (Neth.) - After completion of the practice session on Wednesday, May 26, Head Coach Craig Montvidas had a personal meeting with 19 of the 21 players on the preliminary roster of the Dutch National Softball Team.
Catcher Nathalie Timmermans and outfielder Saskia Kosterink were not there, as they are currently abroad in respectively the USA and Italy.
The meetings were set up, as today 16 players were named to the final roster for the upcoming World Championship, which will be held next month in Caracas (Venezuela).

All players on the preliminary roster were informed personally by Montvidas and his Assistant Coach Nancy Evans.
That resulted in the naming of 16 players to the roster.
The 17th and final player, a pitcher, will be named shortly.
Making her international debut in the National Team is outfielder Fabienne van Uden, while outfielder Merel Oosterveld also made the team for the first time for a big event.
Last year, Merel made her international debut in an exhibition game against Great Britain, but after that didn't made the cut for the international season, which included tournaments in Canada and the USA and the European Championship in Spain.
The respective clubs and coaches of the players involved were informed of the roster-naming on Wednesday-evening.
On Thursday, the roster for the national squad was announced officially by the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) in a press release.
