Dutch Team to prepare in Venezuela, adds four exhibition games

NIEUWEGEIN (Neth.) - The Dutch National Softball Team has confirmed its participation in the Venezuela International Series, which will be held June 15-20 in Caracas. The event, which will be played on other playing sites than those to be used afterwards during the World Championship in the Venezuelan capital, will serve as final preparations for the global event. The Dutch Team, which will leave for Venezuela on June 14, will meet Cuba and host Venezuela in the event, which will have a yet to be confirmed fourth participating country, probably New Zealand. A schedule for the International Series has not been announced yet. Besides playing in this tournament, the Dutch Team also will play an exhibition game against Canada prior to the World Championship.

The Dutch Team also will play four additional intersquad games in April. Did the team played its previous intersquad games indoors, these will all be played outdoors on the site of Nieuwegein Diamonds in Nieuwegein, which serves as the home of the Dutch National Team. The games will be played on Wednesday 7, 14, 21 and 28 April and will all start at 2:15 PM.
