2011 --- On January 5, Malou and Alcmaria-teammate Jessie van Aalst fly to the USA for their first season at Florida State College in Jacksonville ---
Two months later, Malou ends her study and playing in Florida and returns home ---
While playing in Florida, Malou appears in six games, including five as a pitcher and strikes out 16 batters in 17 innings ---
On May 15, Malou is one of 15 players that compile the Holland All Stars for the first double-header of the Holland Tour vs. the Dutch National Team at De Bilt ---
On April 16, the second game of a double-header vs. Olympia Haarlem, Malou makes her debut in the Dutch big league ---
In her first season on the highest level, Malou throws in 16 games for Alcmaria Victrix.
She finishes the season with a 6-2 record and strikes out 27 batters in 50 2/3 inning.
Offensively, she hits .133 with two RBI's.
2010 --- In January, Malou participates with the National squad (playing for Team Blue) in the International Indoor Cup in Schiedam (Netherlands) with her team finishing in second place ---
On January 18, Malou is one of five players to be cut from the active roster, but she remains eligible for future considerations and will be an Alternate for the 2010 season ---
On February 7, Malou is a fill-in player for Team Orange, one of the Dutch Junior Softball Teams that participates in the Right To Play Future Stars Tournament in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
2009 --- After having played for First Divisionist Onze Gezellen, Malou this year plays for Alcmaria Victrix, which also plays in the First Division ---
In October, Malou is one of eight players being invited to participate in the indoor practice sessions of the Dutch National Softball Team. On October 25, the players get a try-out and then Malou joins the team on November 1.
2008 --- This year, Malou again is a member of the Dutch Junior Softball Team, which this time wins the European title at the European Championships in Deggendorf (Germany).
2007 --- Malou gets her first international experiences when she participates with the Dutch Junior Softball Team in the Kingdom Games, the bi-annual sports event for young athletes from the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

MALOU is the daughter of Frans and Anita van Dusschoten and has one brother, Mathijs (who plays baseball at Sparks Haarlem), and one sister, Femke, who played for Terrasvogels in 2009-2010 and currently plays for Alcmaria Victrix and is a member of the Dutch National Softball Team since 2009.
Father Frans has played baseball for Kinheim in Haarlem and was the Head Coach of the softball-team of Onze Gezellen in the First Division until the 2008 season.
Mother Anita played softball in the Dutch big league for DSS and Bloemendaal (1977-1983). |
