Lindsey Meadows, Nathalie Gosewehr will wear Italian shirts in 2011

Lindsey Meadows, pitcher of European Cup-winner Tex Town Tigers and Nathalie Gosewehr, outfielder of Cup Winners Cup-winner and Dutch champion Sparks Haarlem both will play in the Italian Softball League next season.
Lindsey will play for Nuoro, while Nathalie will play for Italian champion DES Caserta, making them the second and third Dutch National Team-player to play in Italy in 2011, the other being outfielder Saskia Kosterink.
The transfer of Lindsey Meadows to Italy was already confirmed after completion of the Holland Series.
The righthanded pitcher has played in six seasons for Tex Town Tigers, with whom she won the Dutch championship title in 2008 and 2009.
In 2010, Lindsey played in all 32 regular season-games, hitting .302 (26-for-86), scored 15 runs and had 14 RBI's.
This season, she threw in 20 games, was 13-3 with one save and struckout 150 batters in 96 1/3 inning.
Lindsey walked only 13 batters and gave up only 25 hits and finished with a league-leading 0.36 ERA.
She was the league-MVP and Best Pitcher twice (both 2007, 2008), as well as Best Hitter once (2008).
This year, Lindsey made her debut in the Dutch National Softball Team and participated in the World Championship in Venezuela.
In total, she has played in 11 official games so far for the Dutch squad.
Outfielder Nathalie Gosewehr this season played in all 32 regular season-games for Sparks Haarlem and batted .374 (34-for-91) with five doubles and three triples.
Her 34 basehits were second best in the team, as were her 28 runs and 23 stolen bases.
Nathalie had 19 runs batted in and her transfer to Italy was confirmed in the second week of November.
In 2004, Nathalie made her debut in the Dutch National Softball Team and would play for the team through early 2007.
She re-joined the national team in December 2008.
With the national team, Nathalie participated in two World Championships, two European Championships and three Canada Cups, amongst other events.
Last year, she was a member of the team that captured the European title in Valencia (Spain), this year she participated with the team in the World Championship in Venezuela.
In total, Nathalie played in 63 official games for the national team.
Outfielder Saskia Kosterink this season played in her first season in Italy and will return to Sanotint Bollate next year.
Earlier, Lucične Geels (1989, Bussolengo), Anouk Mels (1998-1999, Ronchi Dei Legionari), Sandra Gouverneur (2006, 2009, Nuoro), Rebecca Soumeru (2006, Macerata) and Daisy de Peinder (2007, Macerata) played in Italy.
