Day 6: Back on the field
SENDAI / NISHIKIGAOTA (Japan) - The Dutch Olympic Softball Team was back on the field on Monday. On Sunday, the team had the day off, after having played against Canada on Friday and Japan on Saturday.
Today, there was three-hour practice session, which was held in the Miyagi Hirose Ballpark, just outside Sendai in Nishikigaota.
While it again was clouded today, there were some sunny moments and it was very humid.
For the next days, the Japanese weathermen predict some rain for Tuesday, but from Wednesday on it will be sunnier and warmer and thus also more humid.
Today, the practice was frequently halted after drills to enable everyone to drink enough water.
The 3-hour practice, which looked very well, started with several fielding drills, then situation drills and finally hitting stations, while the pitchers also threw in the bullpen.
After returning in the hotel from the practice, the lunch was combined with watching game-videos, then an optional weightlifting session in the gym concluded the day.
On Tuesday, the team will return to the field again for another practice session.
