AMSTERDAM (Neth.) - On Friday, the Dutch National Softball Team continued its series of indoor practices to prepare for the 2010 international season and today also played its first intersquad indoor game at Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam.
Starting today, the Dutch Team will play an indoor-game every Friday-afternoon in the Dutch capital.
Weekly, national umpires are invited to join the team and participate in the games.
The umpires welcomed the possibility to continue their skills in the wintermonths.
In the first indoor-game of the winter season, the squad was split into two teams and played according to the normal rules.
Areke Spel and Solange Starrenburg both homered in the game.
The team and its staff thank umpires Jac van Riel and Albert Jung for their participation in today's game.
Today's practice session was completed with a strength-program, conducted by Physical Therapist Anouk Fermont.
