Dutch play 2-team intersquad game
Nederlandse tekst
AMSTERDAM (Netherlands) -
It was a beautiful day today with a bright blue sky.
At first sight, it would have been a great day to be outside.
Only, it was January 28 and freezing cold, so the Sporthallen Zuid in Amsterdam again was the comfortable location for today's practice session.
Also today, the Dutch National Softball Team played its second intersquad game of the season.
In last week's game, the players just switched between hitting and playing defensively, but today two teams were formed who faced each other.
The next intersquad game will be played on Friday, February 4, also in Amsterdam.
Like in the previous 'Tulip League'-seasons, the Dutch Team was split in Team Grey and Team Black.
They faced each other in a game, which was played according to normal rules, except for a 1-1 starting count on the batter.
In somewhat over two hours, 10 innings were played in this game.
For the record, Team Black won 5-2.
By the way, in the next game, Team Grey and Team Black will have a different compilation.
We would like to thank umpires Wout van der Horst and Rick Tuk for their participation in today's game.
Lynn Dollekamp and Myrthe Smid, two players of the Dutch Junior Red Team, were invited to participate in today's practice and intersquad game.
