2010 --- In January, Femke participates with the National squad (playing for Team Blue) in the International Indoor Cup in Schiedam (Netherlands) with her team finishing in second place --- On January 18, Femke is one of 21 players named to the preliminary roster for this years World Championships --- On May 8, Femke throws a No-Hitter in the Dutch big league vs. Olympia Haarlem --- On June 11, Femke is cut for the final roster for the World Championship in Venezuela, but remains on the list as an alternate.
2009 --- On May 9, Femke is added to the preliminary roster of the Dutch National Team. She joins the team the next day prior to the games vs. Centrals in the Holland Tour --- On May 17, Femke makes her debut in the National Team when she pitches two innings in relief and earns a save in the opening game vs. Gryphons --- On May 20, she makes her first start and throws a combined No-Hitter with Dagmar Bloeming in the opener vs. the Dutch Juniors --- On May 27, Femke is one of the 17 players who is named to the final roster for the Dutch National Team to participate in this years international events --- On May 31, Femke strikes out five and gives up only one hit, throwing two innings in relief and is the winning pitcher in the opener vs. Robur '58 --- On June 14, Femke throws two innings in relief in the opener of a double-header against the Foreign All Stars and earns her second save --- On June 19, Femke makes her international debut in the game against Great Britain, is the starting pitcher, strikes out six in three innings and is the winning pitcher --- On July 25, Femke combines with Rebecca Soumeru, Dagmar Bloeming and Kirsten Scheele in a 7-inning No-Hitter in an exhibition game vs. Great Britain prior the European Championships in Valencia --- On July 27, Femke throws a complete game 5-inning No-Hitter in the game vs. France, the opener of the European Championships in her first-ever EC-appearance and is now being involved in three No-Hitters this season --- On July 31, Femke throws four innings in relief, gives up two hits and is the winning pitcher in the come-from-behind victory vs. the Czech Republic during the European Championships --- On August 1, Femke is a member of the Dutch Team which brings the European title back to the Netherlands for the first time in 19 years --- Two weeks later, Femke participates with Terrasvogels in the CupWinners Cup-tournament in Parma (Italy), which is won by her team for the first time in six years --- Unfortunately, due to an administrative error, Femke is not eligible to play in this event (her first European Cup-event), but she is with the team as an Assistant Coach --- On April 11, Femke makes her debut in the Dutch Major League, pitching for Terrasvogels --- In the regular season, her first with Terrasvogels and first on the highest level, Femke is 8-3 with a 3.09 ERA and strikes out 61 batters in 70 1/3 inning.
2008 --- In the Spring of this year, Femke studies and plays softball at Northwest Florida State College. In 18 games, she is 4-7, strikes out 64 batters and ends the season with the Raiders with an 0.87 ERA --- In the regular season, Femke plays for First Divisionist Onze Gezellen. After completion of this season, Femke and her sister Malou both leave the club. Femke will play for Terrasvogels in 2009, while Malou will wear the shirt of Alcmaria Victrix in Alkmaar.
2005 --- This year, while playing for the second team of Terrasvogels, Femke is a member of the District 1 Little League Team from the Netherlands and gains her first international experiences participating in the Big League World Series, one of the Little League-events, in Kalamazoo in Michigan, USA.
Family
FEMKE is the daughter of Frans and Anita van Dusschoten and has one brother, Mathijs (who plays baseball at Sparks Haarlem), and one sister, Malou, who plays for Alcmaria Victrix and has been a member of the Dutch National Junior Team. In October 2009, Malou is invited for the preliminary roster of the Dutch National Softball Team.
Father Frans has played baseball for Kinheim in Haarlem and was the Head Coach of the softball-team of Onze Gezellen in the First Division until the 2008 season. Mother Anita played softball on the highest level with Bloemendaal.
Mother Anita played softball in the Dutch big league for DSS and Bloemendaal (1977-1983).
Femke's boyfriend is Bart Gabriëls, who plays baseball in the Dutch Major League for HCAW in Bussum since 2006, but also played on the highest level with Twins (2002-2004) and Almere '90 (2005).
