Day 7: No game today
EMERYVILLE / BERKELEY (California, USA) - Steady rain resulted in the cancelation of both a team walk in the morning and the game against the University of California Golden Bears in the afternoon on Tuesday. The game, which was changed from a double-header into a single game, has been re-scheduled for next Tuesday, February 26, at 3 PM.
But the team was on the field anyhow. Instead of playing, the squad went to the astroturf hockeyfield, which is located besides the football-stadium. There, at Maxwell Family Field, a conditioning training session was conducted. At that moment, it was dry, but it started to rain again towards the end of the training session. Later in the afternoon, it started to rain again (sometimes heavy), which went on the entire evening.
The team runs the hockeyfield in front of Bowles Hall, an all-male residence hall on the campus
of the University of California at Berkeley. Bowles Hall was dedicated in 1929 and was put on the
National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
Studies in 1998 revealed that the southeastern corner of the building clips
a trace of the Hayward Fault, which showed no activity in the last 10.000 years.
