Day 2: First impressions
Day 2 of the USA Tour was the first full day in California and it was a day for new impressions and the first day of practice.
EMERYVILLE (California, USA) - After Physical Therapist Rob had scouted the neighbourhood during his (daily) morning walk, the entire team went out for a walk after breakfast.
And it was a nice, scenic route, which brought us to the waterside of Emeryville, where not only some expensive yachts could be seen, but also a beautiful view of San Francisco on the other side of the Bay.
Of course, photos were taken from the skyline of San Francisco with on the leftside the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and on the rightside the famous Golden Gate Bridge. Alcatraz Island, the wellknown former prison in the San Francisco Bay was visible in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.
On this Valentine's Day, the team posed with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background under a blue sky.

BERKELEY (California, USA) - After having lunch, yes, it was time for another meal, the team went to the softball-field of the University of California at nearby Berkeley.
As there were only two vans available at the moment, Caroline had to drive twice to pick up the remaining players.
But Caroline, our Business Manager, drove as she had lived in the area for a longtime. She knew how to get to the Cal-campus, so it didn't take long to get there.
Levine-Fricke Field, the home of the Golden Bears, is surrounded by a lot of green, with trees towering high above the outfield.
Under a clear blue sky, 17 degrees Celsius (61 Fahrenheit), but with a sometimes chilly wind, the team practiced for some three hours, got their first impressions and got acquainted with their 'home field' for the coming days, as this is where the practices will be done.
On Tuesday, the Dutch Squad will meet the Bears in a double-header.
On the first day of practice, the pitchers threw in the bullpen, infield- and outfield drills were done, all kind of relay- and cut-off plays were performed and batting practice was taken in the batting cages behind the field.
The team has access to almost all facilities on the campus, as the University of California is cooperation with everything.
The first full day is in the books.
