First day on the field
SURREY, British Columbia (Canada) - Less than a day after arriving in Canada, the Dutch National Softball Team was back on the field on Thursday-morning.
On a very warm, but also dusty day, the Dutch squad held a practice session in the morning on one of the fields of Softball City in Surrey, where the Canada Cup will take place starting on Saturday.
During the practice, player Britt Vonk was hit in her face when a ball hit her off her glove.
She had to see a doctor, but fortunately, all was well, except for a fat lip.
In the afternoon, the players were off and in the evening, the staff was back in the stadium to watch one of the exhibition games of the Venezuelan team.
The team will be back on the field on Friday and then will practice on the campus of Simon Fraser University.
