Nederlandse tekst
DE BILT (Neth.) - During the annual Council Meeting, a new Board was installed for the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) on Saturday, March 27.
Amongst the new executives is Caroline Theunissen, who from June 2007 through 2008 served as Business Manager of the Dutch National Softball Team.
In that period, Caroline was with the team when it participated in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Italy in 2007 and the Olympic Games in Beijing (China) in 2008.
Caroline will be in charge of softball affairs and succeeds Anton Kops, who stepped down in November of last year.
Also elected were Bob Bergkamp (chairman), Ruurd Koopmans (secretary), Frits Mulder (baseball affairs & game officials) and Marcel Visser (marketing).
Caroline Theunissen is not the first person to be associated with the Dutch Softball National Team to later become a member of the KNBSB-Board.
From March-August 2004, former National Team Pitching Coach Ton Hendriks was member of the Board for softball affairs.
In earlier years, the Boardmember for softball affairs also served as Team Leader or Team Manager of the national squad.
Since 1992, the managerial positions expanded, the National Teams have a separate Team Manager or Business Manager or both.
