Day 7: Ready to play!
BEIJING (China) - The Dutch Olympic Softball Team returned to the field on Monday-evening for its last practice-session. On Tuesday, at 5:00 PM, the team starts the Olympic Softball Tournament against host country China.
Also on Monday, the Dutch won another medal, as judoka Deborah Gravenstijn won the Silver Medal. Her victory was celebrated later in the evening in the Holland Heineken House.
Also on Monday-evening, the Dutch Olympic Baseball Team closed its preparations with an 8-3 victory against Canada. Bryan Engelhardt (3-run) and Sidney de Jong (solo) homered for the Dutch. Juan Carlos Sulbaran (4 innings) and Dave Draijer (2 innings) did the pitching in the game, which was halted in the top of the seventh inning, due to rain.
