2011 --- After initially announcing that she will return this season to play for Terrasvogels again, Annemiek announces her retirement early in the year ---
During the season, however, she does play a few games for her former clubteam Onze Gezellen in the second-highest division.
2010 --- In July, Annemiek comes out of retirement and rejoins Terrasvogels to play in five regular season-games. She hits .400 (6-for-15) and has three RBI's ---
In August, Annemiek participates in the Cup Winners Cup Tournament in Haarlem (Netherlands) with Terrasvogels ---
After completion of the season, Annemiek announces she will return to play again for Terrasvogels in 2011.
2009 --- After being a member of the preliminary team in 2005, Annemiek makes her debut in the Dutch National Team four years later on May 3, in the opening game of the Holland Tour vs. Euro Stars. She is 1-for-4 (a double), scores once and has two RBI's ---
On May 6, Annemiek is 2-for-2, scores once and has two RBI's in the first game against the Dutch Juniors ---
On May 10, she is 2-for-4 with two Runs Batted In in the opening game vs. Centrals ---
Annemiek goes 2-for-3 and scores twice in the second game vs. the Dutch Juniors on May 20 ---
On May 27, Annemiek is one of the five players who is cut for the final roster for the Dutch National Team, she decides not to be an alternate ---
In August, Annemiek participates with Terrasvogels in the CupWinners Cup-tournament (her seventh European Cup-event) in Parma (Italy), which is won by her team for the first time in six years ---
In the regular season, Annemiek hits .270, scores seven runs and has eight runs batted in ---
After completion of the season, Annemiek announces her retirement, as she is expecting her first child.
2008 --- On December 11, Annemiek is one of 28 players being named to the preliminary roster of the Dutch National Team for 2009 and is invited to start practice in January ---
In her regular season with Terrasvogels, Annemiek bats .404, but she misses several games due to an injury ---
She recovers in time to participate with the team in the European Cup-tournament in Prague (Czech Republic).
2007 --- In the regular season, Annemiek again hits well above .300, finishing with a .367 average with 33 basehits, including her first big league-homerun.
2006 --- In her comeback-season with Terrasvogels, Annemiek hits a career high .402, scores 15 runs, has 23 RBI's and registers 35 basehits.
2005 --- On February 10, Annemiek is one of seven pitchers to be named to the preliminary roster (32 players) of the Dutch National Team, but she doesn't makes the final team, which later in the year participates in the Canada Cup ---
In the regular season, she plays in 32 games, but none of them as a pitcher. She raises her batting average to .299 and has 26 basehits ---
After the season, Annemiek returns to Terrasvogels.
2004 --- In France, Annemiek is a member of the Dutch Junior Team, which captures the European title ---
In the regular season, her first with DSC '74, Annemiek bats .250, playing in 25 games ---
In this season, she starts to play more at first base, as she appears in only two games as a pitcher.
2003 --- With the National Junior Squad, Annemiek travels to Aruba and China for the Kingdom Games and World Championships ---
In her first season with Terrasvogels, Annemiek plays in only three games ---
After the season, she moves to DSC '74.
2002 --- This year, Annemiek makes her international debut as a player for the Dutch National Junior Team, participating in the European Championships in Chocen (Czech Republic) ---
Playing for Onze Gezellen, Annemiek also makes her debut in the Dutch Major League, appearing in 35 games and collecting 24 basehits. As a pitcher, she throws in 17 games, wins three and strikes out 20 batters ---
After the season, she decides to play for Terrasvogels.

| ANNEMIEK is the daughter of Hans van Riessen and has one brother, Bas, who played baseball in the past, but currently plays basketball with Akrides after having played two seasons for Omniworld in the highest Dutch basketball-league (eredivisie).
Annemiek's boyfriend is Stephan Koehorst, who plays baseball in the main squad of Olympia Haarlem. |
